After many unsuccessful attempts to obtain a visa for America, Li gets a study visa. She leaves her husband and baby behind and promises a speedy reunion, but the reality is different. Her husband, Zhou, (illegally) travels after her and sinks further and further into the New York underworld in an attempt to find Li.
