Adam's Woman plot

Australia in the 1940s. Adam is sent to penal colony Australia for 20 years for a murder he didn't commit. Australia's governor wants to colonize the country by allowing convicts to marry and giving them land. Adam and Bess, a young Irish girl, are eligible for this. They try to build a life together.
