A Woman Commands plot
Captain Alex Pastitsch is in love with Madame Maria Draga, a cabaret singer with rather expensive tastes. In order to give his mistress jewelry and other beautiful things, Alex gambles a lot of money. One day the Captain loses all his money at the roulette table. And then he hears that he has to be transferred to a post far from the city and the woman he loves. It doesn't seem like things can get much worse for Alex.
