"Wishing you were here"

Mei Mei (Zhu Lin) is a 16-year-old Chinese orphan. She is supported by donations from Australian Dean Randall (Guy Pearce), who sends her postcards describing his idyllic family life. When the choir from her orphanage goes to Australia to participate in a festival, she takes the opportunity to visit Dean. But what she thinks is far from what she imagined.
