Ziva Postec plot
This documentary tells the life story of Ziva Postec, with an emphasis on the period when she edited Shoah, the famous film she compiled from 350 hours of footage. Per interviewee (both victims and perpetrators) Lanzmann shot between seven and twenty hours of material. Material that Postec "assembled as lace", with intermediate shots of the 'guilty landscape' as breathing spaces. After the nine-hour Shoah was completed, Postec became ill for three months from exhaustion. In 1986 she returned to Israel, where she still lives.
