In 1937, folklorist Alan Lomax recorded extraordinary songs in Michigan's Upper Peninsula by Croatian, German and Finnish musicians, among others. The region's artists fused their work and created a series of traditions that continued to evolve. This documentary shows the musical collaborative adventures of Oren Tikkanen, a Finnish miner's son who embraced the multifaceted soundscape in the 1970s.
