We Live Here: The Midwest plot
"An authentic portrait of courageous families in America's heartland"
All families face new challenges every day, but many also face discrimination and hatred within their churches, schools and neighborhoods. This film portrays the families who would like to continue living in the part of the country they love and where their roots lie. For example, it follows a black gay couple with a young daughter, as well as a lesbian couple who homeschool their son on a farm because he is being bullied at school. At the same time, politician Heather Keeler stands up for the rights of the LGBT community.
