Wa Yu Shi De Ren plot

Jade has long been a precious commodity in Asia. In the north of Burma there are rich deposits of jade in the mountains. The area is part of the Kachin state with many ethnic groups that ended up in a civil war with the Burmese government in 2010. Jade mining was discontinued because of the acts of war. However, thousands of workers went to the war zone to illegally mine jade. It made the area a no-go area and the filmmaker Midi Z, who has hitherto made feature films in Burma, was unable to film in the area himself. Too dangerous. With the help of filming locals, Midi Z was still able to compose this portrait.
