In Egypt, child labor has been a more or less accepted phenomenon for centuries. Children work in the fields, in small factories or even for an artist's project, where they make art objects. The Egyptian welfare workers and teachers involved find the term child labor stigmatizing. They wholeheartedly admit that it is widespread in their country.
