Uncle Sam Wants You plot

Documentary portraying a United States Marine Corps recruiting agency in the Queens borough of New York. The Marines who have to recruit - they have to reach a mandatory quota of registrations within a certain period - are young and inexperienced and hardly differ from their target group in age and background. This target group consists of young men (and women) who are on the verge of social failure. Without school, without a job, but not yet on drugs or in crime. The navy as the last straw. The recruiting officers see their work on the home front as an important contribution to combat and, of course, as a means to advance in the navy.
