Un Animal, des Animaux plot

The zoological section of the Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris had been closed to the public for some 25 years when a major restoration began in 1992. Thousands of stuffed animals had to be dusted and repaired. In the meantime, insights about the presentation method had changed considerably: conservators no longer appreciated classical lions frozen in a bloodthirsty attack on the curious public. Philibert paints a picture of a dreamy visitor who wanders around in a bizarre world in which everything from prehistoric times to the present day coexists.
