“The best thing that could happen to you is that God gives you a baby and a nice husband,” Hanan said. She has a nice husband, but not a baby. The Egyptian woman has been trying to conceive for twelve years. According to the doctor, she has a too narrow uterus. She has already had three operations to enlarge it, without success. But it is not only the medical path that Hanan, who is known in the village as “mother of the unborn”, is taking. In a small community steeped in ritual, magic and (super) belief, she's tried everything...
