Tsypkin, een Russische Vertelling plot
Several years ago, American author Susan Sontag found a novel by a Russian writer she had never heard of in a used bookstore. The title of the novel was 'Summer in Baden Baden'. The book had been smuggled from Russia to America in the 1980s and was released in English in 1987 by a small publishing house. The book had gone unnoticed, but Sontag's help changed that: it has now appeared in many countries and has even been released in Russia. The documentary tells the story of Leonid Tsypkin (1926 - 1982), a Jewish doctor who actually wanted to be a writer, but due to the political circumstances of his time could not express his ambition and never saw his work published.
