"A feel good movie about suffering"

From his sun-drenched garden in Miami, rock star Iggy Pop reads from Michel Houellebecq's 'To Stay Alive.' In 1991 Houellebecq wrote this high-profile essay on madness, survival and art, calling it a weak but clear signal to those on the verge of giving up. Houellebecq calls on life-weary poets to always return to the origin: suffering. The directors film Houellebecq in his grandparents' kitchen and visit people with a psychiatric illness whose life stories were the source of inspiration for the essay.
