There Once Was an Island: Te Henua e Nnoho plot
Takuu is a tiny island with a few hundred inhabitants. There is no electricity, there are no shops and there is no regular boat connection with the outside world. People live on what they get from the sea and from their garden. The island is seriously harassed by horrible tidal waves. This has led the Polynesian government to devise a plan to transfer the islanders to the mainland. Uncertain about their future, the residents invited two scientists, oceanographer John Hunter and geomorphologist Scott Smithers, to investigate the situation. We follow the islanders Teloo, Endar and Satty who don't know whether to choose a future in Bougainville, far away from their traditions, or for their island, where the battle against the rising tide is not yet over.
