The Red Leaf Legend plot
In 1968, the Taiwanese Red Leaf Junior Baseball Team won a historic victory over Japan. The little baseball players were all from the same village, Red Leaf, where the beloved baseball was used with great success to lure the many truant students back to primary school. Ninety percent of the village's residents are members of the Bunun tribe, and so is the baseball team. Their victory over Japan's great Wakusan team laid the foundation for the development of baseball in Taiwan, restoring some of the national confidence in an uncertain period.
