The Other Europeans in: Der Zerbrochene Klang plot

Before World War II, Bessarabia was famous for its musicality, which was fueled by the interaction between Jewish Klezmer and Roma Lautari music. Now, seventy years later, a fourteen-strong group of Jewish and Roma musicians come together to search for clues - in what is now Moldova - to explore their early music culture. Here the participants are confronted on the one hand with their own history, but at the same time with the bitter awareness of their marginal position in Europe.
