The Only Son plot

Pema is a 19-year-old boy who comes from a Nepalese village high in the Himalayas, but grew up in a children's home in Kathmandu, because his parents brought most of their children there due to illness and poverty. According to tradition, he is the only son in the family to take care of his parents and their land. But Pema wants to study abroad and live a modern Western life.
