The Lost Village plot
In Almonte, located in an inhospitable region of Andalusia, the inhabitants live for their Virgin Mary, a statue of the Virgin found nearby centuries ago. Every year, in the month of May, tens of thousands of people flock from far and wide to nearby El Rocío, where an insane pilgrimage to the White Temple in Almonte begins. The testimonies and anecdotes of the Almontes, or as they call themselves, Rocíeros, accompany the images of the journey that begins and ends in darkness - with high above the surging masses the figure of the virgin covered with modest cloths.
