The Last Ice plot
Portrait of two young Inuit fighting for the survival of their culture. The melting ice of the Arctic is rapidly shrinking their hunting grounds. At the same time, business interests are queuing up to exploit the area. Young Inuit Aleqatsiaq grew up partly in Denmark, where his mother was killed. Now he lives in the remote Greenlandic village of Qaanaaq, where his uncle teaches him the ropes of hunting. Maatalii is a young woman recovering from an oppressive relationship. They both went back to the place where their culture and history were formed. But their way of life is, again, threatened by outside forces.
