The Invisible Father plot

In the 1960s, beat poet and experimental filmmaker Piero Heliczer (1937–1993) was a pivotal figure in the emergence of the New American Cinema. He was also involved in the launch of the careers of Andy Warhol and The Velvet Underground. Through interviews with friends and family, photographs, and other archival material, Thérèse Heliczer (Piero's daughter) presents a portrait of her father and how to lead an authentic creative life in this documentary. She explores whether she can still establish a connection with her absent father through his work.
