The Ballad of Shovels and Rope plot

The documentary tells the success story of married couple Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst. Two South Carolina singer-songwriters who, after their own solo careers, continued together under the name Shovels & Rope. The filmmakers followed the couple from the very first day they decided to form a band together, we see a new bond emerge from scratch and go out into the world with just each other and their dog Townes.
