Tehran: Another Side plot

During the Islamic Revolution, Sam Ali Kashani's family immigrates to the United States. In sunny California, young Sam then leads the life of a typical American boy. He only knows the homeland of his family from the images of newspapers and TV. In the summer of 2007, Sam travels to Tehran. There he sees a side of Iran he never suspected; a modern and dynamic city. Back in the United States, Sam notices that his friends are expecting photos and stories that confirm their stereotypical idea of Iran and the Iranian capital. Sam decides to make a documentary about what he believes to be the real Tehran. In this way he hopes to undermine the Western clichés surrounding Iran.
