Távola de Rocha plot
When Paulo Rocha passed away at the end of 2012, it caused little commotion in the international film community. Proof that the director was barely known outside Portugal and was in the shadow of his compatriot Manoel de Oliveira. That's a shame, because Rocha was an important name that blew the dust of Portuguese cinema in the 1960s with films like 'Os Verdes Anos' and 'Mudar de Vida'. After that mix of neorealism and nouvelle vague in the 1960s, Rocha later opted for a more formalistic approach. This documentary shows a look at his influences and how the filmmaker worked.
