Tattoos: a sign of rebellion, a big middle finger to the rest of the world. Old sailors got one on leave in Singapore, skaters walk around with it, your mother has a butterfly on her leg and your child is now quickly walking around with a random meaningless picture tattooed on his body. But where does the tattoo come from? How did it become the art form of today? Tattoo Nation follows three pioneers, Charlie Cartwright, Jack Rudy and Freddy Negrete, and shows how a new, beautiful line style that uses detail and shading to pursue remarkable realism revolutionized the world of ink.
