Tambogrande: Mangos, Murder, Mining plot

Tambogrande is a town in northern Peru. Over the years, the inhabitants have taken great pains to transform their originally arid environment into a fertile valley. This is where most of the national fruit production comes from. This relative prosperity is threatened when in 1999 foreigners want to mine the gold that is under the city. The Canadian company Manhattan Minerals is planning a large mine, which will have to disappear a large part of the city and create the danger of serious soil and water pollution.
