Striche Ziehen plot
Striche Ziehen' is the story of five young members of the punk milieu of the East German city of Weimar. In 1986 they travel to West Berlin where they want to present a spectacular and risky art manifestation on the Berlin Wall. A simple white line should run all along the west side of the Wall, symbolizing the metaphorical 'line through the bill'; the project became better known as 'The White Line'. But information from the ranks of the activists gets to the GDR border guards, so that the action is canceled, with severe penalties as a result. In his documentary, Gerd Kroske tells a story about friendship and betrayal, a history that still resonates today.
