Stephen Fry: The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive plot

British comedian, actor, writer and television presenter Stephen Fry explores what it's like to live with bipolar or manic-depressive mental disorder. Fry knows what he's talking about because he's manic-depressive himself. He talks about the impact of the illness on his life, his ups and downs and his suicide attempt in 1995. He also interviews other manic-depressive celebrities such as 'Star Wars' actress Carrie Fisher, Hollywood star Richard Dreyfuss, television chef Rick Stein , pop star Robbie Williams and British comedians Tony Slattery and Jo Brand. Finally, Fry's research leads him to psychiatric institutes and research labs where scientists try to analyze and control the disease, which affects two percent of the population.
