Bruce Franks Jr. is a prominent Ferguson activist and rapper who was elected to the predominantly white and Republican Missouri House of Representatives. His supporters call him Superman. He must overcome both personal trauma and political hurdles to pass a bill of major importance to his community. One of his traumas is that he witnessed the murder of his brother at the age of 9.
