Sound It Out plot
"High Fidelity with a northern accent"
An independent record store has closed its doors every three days in the UK for the past five years. Sound it Out Records is the last record store in Teeside, a small town in North East England. The charming little shop is a cultural beacon in one of England's most deprived areas. With the help of some music crazies and the residents of Teeside, this unique place manages to survive miraculously. Documentary maker Jeanie Finlay grew up in the Teeside area and manages to strike a chord with a quirky and intimate portrait of a thinning group of music fanatics in a gray part of England.
