Soldiers of Music plot

In 1990, the successful cellist and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich returned to his homeland, the Soviet Union, after 16 years in exile. The film is a portrait of an artist who returns to a country that has changed a lot since his departure, and is now about to experience another revolution. The musician and his wife, the opera singer Galina, are moved and happy to be back on their homeland and to visit the places from their past.
