Silas plot
"No more business as usual"
Liberian environmentalist Silas Siakor is committed to protecting the rights of local communities and exposing corruption. Raised during the reign of war president Charles Taylor, Siakor watched valuable commodities sell out on the foreign market and return weapons for them. That is why in 2005 he supported democratically elected President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf; she promised recovery. But in the absence of change, Siakor and colleagues at his Sustainable Development Institute decide to use an encrypted mobile app to show the international community that human rights violations continue on a massive scale in Liberia and that environmentally destructive companies have a free hand. But his passionate struggle has a downside: both his family life and his health begin to suffer.
