Bald heads, tracksuits, dilated pupils, and above all, a hard-hitting beat. In Rotterdam Rave Culture "30 Years of Heritage," sound designer Dennis van Rijswijk and club culture journalist Holly Dicker take you through thirty years of Rotterdam's nightlife history: from the rise of gabber in the '90s to post-pandemic times. Featuring archive footage of iconic dance floors, studios, and vinyl stores, as well as conversations with DJs, party organizers, and ravers, the film pays tribute to the Rotterdam gabber scene. Why it was so important then, and what's missing from the nightlife scene now.
