Rings of the World plot

Documentary about the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, which were held from 7 to 23 February 2014. All the sports took place in Adlersky District. The skiing and sledding sports took place in Krasnaya Polyana, a town in the northeast of the district, in the Western Caucasus, east of the city of Sochi proper. The stadiums for the other sports were grouped and located on the Black Sea coast, between Adler and the border with Abkhazia. It was the first time that the Olympic Games were organized in the state of Russia; however, Moscow, as the capital of the then Soviet Union, hosted the 1980 Summer Olympics. With 98 events in fifteen sports disciplines in the seven Olympic sports, these Winter Games were the largest in history to date.
