Riben Guizi plot

How does a person become a war criminal? Director Minoru Matsui's hypothesis is simple: by waging war. For verification, he shows the gruesome testimonies of fourteen soldiers who served with the Imperial Japanese Army in China between 1931 and 1945. Neither the social background of the witnesses, nor their belief or disinterest in the 'holy' war, appear to influence the commission of war crimes.
