Raising Resistance plot
Most of the soy crop is used to fatten livestock in rich countries. Meanwhile, the local population loses out: they do not share in the profits and must fight to survive. Only the genetically modified soy plants are resistant to the pesticides that are used. Unfortunately, the poison extends far beyond the boundaries of the plantations. This not only leaves less and less land for local farmers, but it is also made impossible for them to grow healthy crops themselves. Led by Geronimo Arevalos, the peasants revolt. They squat a piece of farmland, try to stop the spraying of pesticides and make their voices heard in the media. Even when a large demonstration is violently crushed, the farmers do not give up.
