Quelques Veuves de Noirmoutier plot

Old women with salt-streaked faces (we are in a land of salt marshes) share fragments from their former lives, which they usually spent away from their husbands, who were away on a fishing trip. Other, younger women, some of whom are self-employed, talk about the shock of sudden death and their shattered family dreams. Although they don't all grieve in the same way, they share common feelings.
