Promised Land plot

In Promised Land, five Americans contemplate the departure of the Pilgrim Fathers from Rotterdam, four hundred years earlier. At the time, they departed from Delfshaven on the ship Mayflower. Once they arrived in America, they depended heavily on the native population and ate the first Thanksgiving meal. But what is the role of the Pilgrims now and should these heroes of yesteryear still be honored?
