"Every man has his own mountain to climb"

In 1998 Marco Pantani, the most flamboyant and popular cyclist of his time, won both the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. He possessed a physical and mental stamina that no rider has shown since. He was a hero to millions and the savior of cycling after the doping scandals that threatened to destroy the sport. However, less than six years later, aged just 34, he died in a cheap Italian hotel room.
