Onverwacht plot

In the documentary 'Unexpected', director Maria Ramos follows a woman who is unintentionally pregnant and doubts whether or not she will keep the child. The film takes place in the weeks between the moment she discovers the pregnancy and makes a final decision. The viewer is involved in the intimate and painful process of self-examination and doubts that she has to go through. The film has no interviews or voice-overs, but consists of observations of her daily life: at work, with her best friend, in conversations with the general practitioner, therapist and abortion doctor. She seeks help to find an answer to this emotional dilemma.
