No More Smoke Signals plot
On a small hill in South Dakota is a radio station founded in the 1970s by activists of the North American Indian resistance movement. It's a long-forgotten place, standing at a crossroads between struggle and hope, between the American dream and everyday life on the poorest reservation in the United States. Yet we find people like Roxanne Two Bulls trying to build a new life on the land of her ancestors; young DJ Derrick discovering his talent for music; white lawyer Bruce, who has spent thirty years trying to free an activist who fights for equal rights for Native Americans; and finally John Trudell, a former AIM activist trying to break through as a musician in Hollywood. From political messages to musical entertainment, Kili Radio sees itself as the voice of the Lakota nation, bringing pride, respect and hope back to the community and minority groups.
