My Cancer plot

Meral Uslu has an aggressive form of breast cancer. As a filmmaker, she wants to record the process of her treatment, but not with a camera that stands between doctor and patient. In “My Cancer” the camera acts as a patient, giving the viewer the feeling that they are being treated themselves. At the beginning of the film, one of Uslu's doctors lists possible treatments: chemotherapy, radiation, breast and armpit surgery, and hormone therapy. What follows are conversations with various doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and other care providers who guide Uslu. These conversations, with compassionate practitioners who honestly weigh her chances, form an intimate account of the relationship between doctor and patient and also provide a clear insight into a complicated matter.
