Music for Black Pigeons plot
What does it mean to be a musician? The main characters of this documentary cannot answer that question. At least not in words. They respond with music created in the studios where the camera was pointed at them. For fourteen years, the filmmakers Andreas Koefoed and Jørgen Leth followed the Danish guitarist and composer Jakob Bro in his encounters with contemporary jazz heroes such as Lee Konitz, Bill Frisell and Midori Takada. The unspoken but clearly visible joy and admiration at the greetings say everything they cannot grasp in language. And when the sounds of the different instruments fill the room, pure magic is created, something the musicians themselves cannot always interpret.
