Mont Saint-Michel, Scanning the Wonder plot

The town of Mont Saint-Michel and its famous abbey are located on a small and rocky tidal island on the border between Normandy and Brittany, with a beautiful view over the surrounding bay. The settlement on the island dates back to the eighth century. The maze-like structures built in zigzags have unfolded over the site for centuries: a pagan temple, a refuge for hermits, a Roman abbey, a fortress and a cursed prison. Historians and archaeologists have never stopped studying and trying to decipher the site.
