Mit Verlust Ist zu Rechnen plot

Winter 1992. In a small Austrian village on the Czech border, the widower Josef Paur has been living alone for a year. The end of the amount of meals still frozen by his wife is in sight. So it's time for Josef to look for a new wife. The widow Paula Hutterová in the Czech village just across the border was one of the few Germans who could stay there after the war. She now lives in a small house with no running water, with her dogs and with her black and white television as her most prized possession. From the newly acquired freedom in her country, she hopes that everything will be like in Austria. Josef Paur sees his chance.
