Mijn Ouders en Ik plot

Gerrit van Elst decides to become a filmmaker. He is going to live in Amsterdam. This puts strain on the very tender bond with his parents. “My Parents and I” is a candid and emotional attempt by son and parents to understand and let go of each other. In 2004 Van Elst will integrate the documentary in a new portrait about his then very elderly parents: “I and My Parents - My Parents and Me.”
