Documentary about the life of choreographer Jiří Kylián. Jiří Kylián is a living legend. Kylián, 65, is one of the most admired choreographers of this generation. More than a hundred choreographies are to his name. In 'Mémoires d'Oubliettes' Kylián looks back on his life and career. His childhood in Prague, his education at the conservatory there, his flight to London and the return to his father, because at the same time the Prague Spring had arrived. During his previous stay in London, Kylián had signed a contract to work as a dancer with the Stuttgarter Ballett. With the very last train to the West, Kylián left his homeland for Germany.
