Manche Hatten Krokodile plot
Decades ago, they ended up in St. Pauli, a neighborhood of the German port city of Hamburg, hoping to escape the 'narrow' confines of the bourgeoisie. Looking for work and a different kind of life. They worked there as dancers and strippers, bartenders, sailors and pimps. Now it's just memories. They tell stories about the hunt for gold, sinking ships, the nights in St. Pauli's 'red lights' quarter and of course the contraband. For this documentary, filmmaker Hornung came into contact with the old residents of this special neighbourhood, who provide an insight into their lives and the neighbourhood.
