Lupe of the Cow plot
In a small Mexican village community, everyone knows the story of Lupe of the Cow, a perhaps centenarian figure who rides around on a saddled cow, looks like an 'Apache from the movie' and has only one working eye. All the farmers know about Lupe, but nobody really knows him - or has seen him. Superstitious stories abounded in this natural environment. But the mystique of the past is intertwined with the harsh reality of contemporary peasant life. The film maker follows a few farmers - men and women - who keep cattle, make cheese and sell milk and crops on a small scale. For a fraction of the price that the end product is sold for.
