Longing for Beauty - Sehnsucht nach Schönheit plot

What is beauty? Nobody actually knows. Yet our society is obsessed with it. This essayistic documentary searches for the answer. Artists, photographers and architects have their say and explain their ideas about beauty. But also Miss Brazil 2010, who practices the Brazilian fight dance capoeira, a Japanese tea master, psychiatrists and a selection of plastic surgeons from all over the world give their vision. The latter talk about their views on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery and, of course, about the influence of the media and the distorted self-image that this creates in many people. In the meantime, we follow three people who came into contact with plastic surgery for various reasons. We see the influence that the interventions have on their lives and on their self-perception.
